Great Wine for a Greener World
09 SONOMA COUNTY STEELHEAD RED

Tasting Notes
This delicious blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Zinfandel is bursting with juicy blackberry jam and wild berry flavors. The palate is rich and deeply textured with a layered entry of fresh boysenberry pie and tangy rhubarb. The mid-palate expands into a long finish of elegantly structured tannins and chocolate mocha. A wonderful complement to rich cheeses, pizza, tomato pasta dishes, poultry with sauces and grilled red meat.

Winemaking
Fermentation takes place in a combination of open and closed tanks with daily pumpovers with splashscreens to increase oxygen incorporation. Extended post fermentation maceration to soften the larger than life frame.

Vineyards
2009 started off with a warmer, drier spring followed by a summer with average heat. Harvest concluded in late September producing evenly ripened grapes showing full concentration, balanced acid and fruit with bright flavors.
